Georgie by Jacob Hounsell
Georgie can’t come out to play today
He said to tell all his friends he’s
feeling ill,
I’m starting to think he’s telling the
truth,
The boy seems pretty sick
He just stays up in his room all alone,
and every once in awhile…
I can here him moan.
He goes out at night
but I don’t know where
to look for a fight?
to get some fresh air?
Georgie can’t come out and play today,
I heard strange loud noises
and bloodcurdling screams
he rages at what he calls
“the voices”
talks of murder in his dreams,
Georgie can’t come out and play today
If he leaves his door ajar
I can smell smoke and blood
He says he’s working on a science project
but he hasn’t been to school in weeks
not since he got suspended for throwing
his “fecal matter” at the class
and telling the teacher to “suck his ass”
Georgie can’t come out and play today
He’s off on cloud nine
chasing dragons and bloody teadybears
living life in his head
and giving us blank stares
keep this up he’ll soon be dead
His skin has many bloody tears
Georgie can’t come out and play today
we’re shipping him off to stay with special doctors
we hear their new treatments are
electrically exciting
Georgie won’t say much
just shrug and go
won’t bother fighting
rejecting our hugs
and shunning human touch
sorry lad, I’m sad to say
Georgie can’t come out and play today
